The Sokoto Professional Network SPN has trained 100 young graduates on essential ICT and productivity tools to prepare them for professional and entrepreneurial success.
The training in collaboration with Dan Anini Digital Solution is designed to equip youth with the skills to effectively apply digital tools in communication, collaboration, and service delivery which are key competencies for career growth and professional success.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Network, Engr. Zayyanu Tambari, said the training is part of a broader capacity-building initiative aimed at equipping youth with practical digital skills critical to today’s workforce.
“This training focuses on ICT and productivity tools that will help our graduate members become better professionals and successful business owners. We carefully selected over 100 promising youth whom we are confident will benefit immensely from this program”
He underscored the importance of investing in young people, describing them as the “engine of growth” for any society due to their energy, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
“Youth are vibrant and willing to learn, unlearn, and relearn. With the right guidance, they can be molded into effective agents of change and development,” he added.
Tambari further revealed that the Network is set to expand its programs to include women, vulnerable groups, and other underserved segments of the society.
“In the past two years, we have been reaching different sectors of our social and economic landscape. Very soon, we will unveil our initiatives for women and disadvantaged groups, Insha Allah,” he assured.
While speaking the Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy, Bashar Umar Kwabo, commended the Network’s efforts, describing the initiative as a valuable complement to the state government’s ongoing digital skills drive.
“What we have seen today is truly remarkable. It shows that the responsibility of development does not rest with the government alone. When organizations like this join hands, we can achieve the unimaginable”
He said that Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration has made digital skills development a top priority, with a medium-term strategy already in motion under the Sokoto State Innovation and Digital Economy Development Plan (2023–2026).
According to him, one of the first pillars of Aliyu’s administration is digital skills training, adding that a program had already been launched to train 10,000 youths across Sokoto State in various digital technologies.
He commended SPN for its foresight and commitment to empowering the youth, calling the initiative “worthy of emulation and applause.”
