Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has said his administration will work closely with the Sultanate Council to address security issues and other concerns in rural communities.
He disclosed this while hosting His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, during a Sallah visit at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Lodge in Sokoto.
The Governor reaffirmed commitment to the ongoing infrastructural and urban renewal projects across the state to advance development.
He announced plans to renovate district heads’ palaces across the state.
“We are not unaware of the dilapidated condition of many district heads’ palaces in the state,” he stated. “Very soon, we will commence their renovation, beginning with the palace of the District Head of Wurno.”
He said the renovations will give district heads suitable housing so they can serve effectively.
The Governor thanked Sokoto State residents for their support and cooperation.
He reaffirmed his administration’s open-door policy, inviting residents to share ideas and feedback to advance Sokoto State together.
Earlier, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, stated that the Sultanate Council would soon meet with district heads to identify ways to support the state government’s efforts in addressing security challenges.
He commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for people-focused projects and assured continued support.
“We are very proud of our Governor, and we are 100 per cent in support of what he is doing for the state,” the Sultan said. “No amount of mischief can separate us. People should always fear God in whatever they say or post on social media.”
He pledged the Sultanate Council’s continued support for the administration’s initiatives, including infrastructural development, feeding programs, and empowerment schemes.
The Sultan urged all stakeholders to help achieve a better Sokoto State.
