The Challenge Initiative (TCI) and Devcom Network, has commended media practitioners in Sokoto state for promoting family planning adoption and contraceptive services households in Sokoto State.
The Sokoto state TCI Manager, Dr Bello Abubakar Kilgori made the commendation at a review meeting of the media focal group, a component of the TCI/ Devcom project in the state.
Kilgori said the achievements made by the group is creating grassroot awareness among parents and households across the Local Government Areas (LGAs) the project has been implemented in the state.
He added that the impact has spotlighted Sokoto, as the most performing state, and leading states on household is accepting family planning where the project is been implemented
He notes that the meeting is aimed at looking at the challenges and prospects of reporting family planning activities in the state.
The manager however urged journalists to sustain the progress in ensuring the success of its implementation to the end in the state.
Also speaking, Abdullahi Elkurebe, a media practitioner shared holistic guidelines and reporting approaches that could ensure the group carry out their work effectively.
Naomi Kogbenda of Vision FM, Sokoto urged the organiser to come up with a timeline of its media programmes for effective delivery.
Earlier, Musa Ubandawaki, the media coordinator of the project, said the meeting was convened to showcase achievements, review challenges, and provide the best ways to enhance progress.
Highlights of the meeting include the group sharing of ideas and experiences in a bid to ensure effective media coverage this year.
