Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto has rated the state highly in fulfilling his administration’s 9-point innovative smart agenda, noting that the government made prudent use of the 2024 Budget.
The agenda’s nine pillars are security, youth empowerment, economic growth, water supply, education, the environment, agriculture, religious issues, and local government autonomy.He addressed the audience while signing the 2025 appropriation budget of N526 billion into law.
“I am happy to confirm that the 2024 budget was a success story,” he declared.
“We have achieved over 90% success as we have succeeded in meeting some of our 9-point innovative smart agenda.”
He continued: “In the outgoing year, we succeeded in implementing numerous projects that positively impacted the lives of our people. In sha Allah, we will continue to deliver more dividends of democracy to their doorsteps.”
The Governor recognised the contributions of development partners, including NGOs, CSOs, and donor agencies, while expressing gratitude to the people of the state for their unwavering prayers and support for his administration.
Earlier, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga, Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, revealed that the lawmakers carefully examined the budget to ensure it reflected the populace’s wishes.
He applauded the Governor for delivering tangible benefits of democracy and promised their continued support for transformative policies and programs.
