Governor Ahmed Aliyu has gifted 2,410 Sokoto pilgrims 1,000 Saudi Riyals each (about N450,000) in Saudi Arabia.
Governor Aliyu aimed to ease the financial burdens of pilgrims preparing to return home to Nigeria by offering this thoughtful support.
The Sokoto State Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Muhammad Mai Gari Dingyadi, announced the donation on Thursday evening in Mina, according to Abubakar Bawa, the Director General of Media and Publicity, Government House, Sokoto.
Dingyadi assured the pilgrims that the administration remains steadfast in its dedication to their welfare and the prosperity of every resident of Sokoto State.
He expressed pride in the exemplary conduct of the state’s pilgrims, highlighting that not a single one was found to have violated Saudi Arabian laws throughout their sacred journey.
The Amirul Hajj extended heartfelt gratitude to the state’s contingent for representing Sokoto State with honour and encouraged them to keep up their admirable spirit.
He called on them to offer fervent prayers for lasting peace and security in Sokoto State and across the nation.
Dingyadi encouraged the pilgrims to strengthen their prayers for Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration to bring even greater benefits of democracy to the people of Sokoto State.
