President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged Muslims to pray for Nigeria’s leaders so their efforts yield more meaningful and positive change for the nation.
He encouraged the faithful to pray as the nation prepares for the upcoming general elections.
“Our prayers are always the guiding light towards the choice of our leaders; therefore, we should sustain more prayers in our quest for the best country we desire,” he stated.
He delivered this message to Muslims across Nigeria in celebration of Eid al-Adha.
The Sultan emphasised that prayers are essential for guiding the nation to choose responsible, capable leaders.
He encouraged all to uphold spiritual values, support the government, and seek divine guidance for leaders at every level.
The NSCIA leader called for increased efforts to address insecurity across the country.
He noted that while the government works to keep the country secure, citizens should pray and support security agencies by providing relevant information.
Sultan Abubakar encouraged Muslims to continue the spirit of worship, sacrifice, and devotion demonstrated during Eid al-Adha.
