Network Against Child Trafficking Abuse and Labour (NACTAL) Nigeria has lauded the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in foiling the trafficking of five children and arresting two suspects. Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah, in connection with the act.
“We commend the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for disrupting the actions and intentions of the traffickers”, stated NACTAL National President Abdulganiyu Abubakar.
“Thumbs up to the police for intercepting the suspects who attempted to escape arrest but were intercepted and arrested by FCT police operatives at Kagini junction, Abuja, while suspiciously conveying five (5) children into the Federal Capital Territory.”
A statement by Georgina Atu-Umaru, Technical Assistant NACTAL Nigeria, quoted SP Josephine Adeh, Anipr, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, as saying the countertrafficking effort occurred on April 27, 2024, with the operatives of the FCT police command, at about 8:00 p.m.
“The FCT Police Command further stated that the suspects and victims have been handed over to the Sokoto state police command for further investigation and onward prosecution,” The statement added,
“The National President of NACTAL, while commending this effort, recommended that the case be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) for further necessary action and diligent prosecution. “
