The Sokoto government has approved training on teaching ethics and Gender Based violence prevention and response for female schools.
Prof. Mustapha Namaka Tukur, Executive Secretary of the Sokoto State Female Education Board, disclosed this during a courtesy visit by members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Sokoto State Chapter.
According to him, the GBV prevention and response programme would hold soon.
“The present administration being led by His Excellency Dr Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto is poised to actualize his dream in his 9-point SMART Agenda,” stated Prof. Tukur.
“Education, being the second point, girl child education is one of his priority areas.”
The Executive Secretary revealed that the state government was implementing several initiatives to address the issues impeding girls’ education.
