Business mogul Alhaji Rabiu Isiyaku Rabiu has extolled the remarkable impact Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, former Sokoto Governor, has made in transforming education in the State.
The philanthropist observed that the former Sokoto Governor’s visionary leadership paved the way for the growth and modernisation of higher education throughout the state.
Alhaji Rabiu further emphasised that Senator Wamakko’s investments in education have opened new horizons and transformed the futures of thousands of young people.
In a congratulatory letter, Alhaji Rabiu highlighted Wamakko’s role in establishing Sokoto State University and in founding Northwest University Sokoto.
He described both institutions as enduring legacies that have broadened access to quality higher education and nurtured graduates who drive progress in national development.
The tycoon spotlighted Wamakko’s far-reaching initiatives as Sokoto governor, from allocating a significant portion of the state budget to education, to boosting school enrolment, founding Women Education Centres, and championing impressive growth in tertiary education.
He also reflected on his multifaceted contributions as a teacher, administrator, former governor, and senator.
Rabiu remarked that Wamakko’s work stands as a testament to his steadfast dedication to eradicating illiteracy, alleviating poverty, and empowering future generations through education.
