Sokoto State Government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring priority attention to health care delivery.
“Improving effective health care services is part of our 9-point agenda aimed at making health care not only affordable but accessible to all,” Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto stated at the inauguration of the State Immunisation and PHC MoU task force.
He noted that the rejection of oral vaccines and inadequate routine immunisation had been a major concern to the state but pledged to change the narrative.
The Governor promised to revitalise the policies and strategies adopted by the Aliyu Wamakko administration towards effective health care delivery, especially on polio eradication in the state.
He tasked the 50-man committee, which has state Deputy Governor Idris Muhammad Gobir as the chair, to ensure the immunisation of every eligible child.
The Sokoto helmsman urged them to ensure adequate sensitisation of parents and guardians to make their wards available for vaccination.
