Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Dadi Adare, has expressed the state government’s commitment to empowering youths and women.
“It is one of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto’s nine-point agenda, and therefore, he is fulfilling the promise by empowering them through skills acquisition, through training and training of them, so the Ministry of Local Government is spearheading that,” he asserted.
Hon. Adare reassured the people of their unwavering resolve to implement initiatives and schemes that have a tangible impact on the well-being of individuals across diverse sectors.
“Government procured medicaments and will distribute them to health facilities free,” he disclosed.
“The ministry procured NPK and UREA fertiliser and gave them free to the public. Gone are the days when the government buys and then subsidises. Under Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto’s leadership, we will give fertiliser free; the distribution of this fertiliser has already commenced.”
He recalled that under his ministry, the state government had also procured palliatives, including maise, millet and rice, distributed at no oct to twenty-three local government areas.
“Within the first hundred days in office, the state government accomplished much. It built roads in the Sokoto metropolis, purchased cars for security services, and laid the groundwork for one hundred housing units currently under construction.”
He said his ministry would continue supporting communities to carry out valuable local projects.
According to him, the ministry’s community development unit is responsible for delivering this type of assistance every month in response to requests made by localities.
