Action Against Hunger has provided essential relief materials to 71 households affected by recent floods in the Yabo and Shagari Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.
The intervention included shelter kits, comprising cement, timber, and roofing sheets, to help them begin rebuilding their homes.
Other items—mattresses, blankets, cooking pots, and hygiene products—will provide comfort and restore a sense of normalcy in their daily lives.
The Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency’s (SEMA) assessment ensured that the most affected households were prioritised, with 53 families in Yabo and 18 in Shagari benefiting from this initiative.
The families who received the assistance expressed profound gratitude to Action Against Hunger for the much-needed intervention.
They noted that the support would significantly contribute to rebuilding their lives.
The initiative was part of Action Against Hunger’s ongoing commitment to supporting disaster-affected communities across Nigeria.
