Senator Aliyu Wamakko (APC – Sokoto North) has extended a helping hand by providing foodstuffs and vital supplies to 1,787 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across nine IDP camps in Sokoto metropolis.
The donation, presented by his Director of Administration, Alhaji Al-Mustapha Abubakar, was intended to bring relief to displaced families as they prepare for the holy month of Ramadan.
Wamakko explained that this initiative continues his commitment to supporting government efforts and lightening the burdens carried by IDPs.
The distributed items ranged from 200 bags each of rice and maize, 400 bags of millet, and 3,560 pieces of clothing for all ages, to 100 cartons of vegetable oil and seasoning, 70 bags of salt, tomato mix, blankets, casseroles, and mosquito nets.
He offered words of reassurance, reminding beneficiaries that their hardship was only temporary and urging them to remain hopeful as efforts continue to restore peace in their communities.
Speaking on behalf of the IDPs, Aisha Murtala and Asma’u Muhammad expressed heartfelt appreciation and prayers for his support.
