The death of the leader of the Pan Yoruba Group Afenifere has been described as a big loss to the Yoruba Nation and Nigeria in general.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the Labour Party in Oyo state, Atayase Olatunji Sadiq, stated that “Nigeria and indeed the Yoruba Nation has lost a Remarkable Icon whose vacuum cannot be easily filled.”
According to Atayese, LP in Oyo state mourns the passing of Pa. Ayo Adebanjo with profound sorrow, adding that “he was a true champion of humanity, whose tireless dedication and unwavering compassion changed countless lives for over nine decades.”
Pa. Ayobanjo devoted his life to uplifting others, leaving an indelible mark on our world that might be very difficult for anyone to step into the shoes he left behind.
Atayese, therefore, urged the group’s leadership to endeavour to carry on from where Pa. Adebanjo left and not deviate from his sincerity and genuine responsibility as a worthy leader.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of kindness, justice, and service to humanity will continue to inspire generations.
The party, however, urged the group Afenifere, his family, colleagues, friends and everyone he left behind to take solace in the fact that he tried his best and left the rest for others to continue.
LP pray for the repose of the deceased and for God to grant everyone he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.
