Faleke Donates N50m Worth Of Relief Materials To Flood Victims in Kogi

A member, House of Representative representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in Lagos State, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has handed over a donation of N50 million worth of food items and other relief materials to flood victims in Kogi State.

The relief materials include 400 bags of beans, 200 bags of Rice, 250 mattresses and 250 pillows.

Speaking during the distribution of the relief materials, Mr. Olumide Faleke who represented the lawmaker while consoling the victims, urged them to accept the disaster as an act of God Almighty.

Faleke who is the Chairman, House Committee on Finance acknowledged the devastating effect of the flood especially on the social and economical lives of the victims is enormous.

According to him, it is a moral responsibility upon him and any other well-to-do person to assist the victims considering the number of lives, domestic and farm products lost to the flood disaster.

The relief materials were presented to the Government House Director General (protoco) Emmanuel Dogwo on behalf of the Governor for onward distribution to the victims in the affected areas.

He reiterated that the relief materials provided are aimed at reducing the hardship they are facing currently.

Faleke also prayed to Almighty God to grant eternal rest to those who lost their lives and also prevent such occurrences in the future.

Present at the handing over event were Hon. Kolade Fagbemi, Hon. Kashim Mabo and other political leaders from the flood affected areas.
