The Director National Education Summit, Professor Ambassador Adams Agahiu OON, has urged the National Assembly to hasten the passage of the law establishing state police in Nigeria to combat the waves of insurgency and kidnappings in the country.
Agahiu in an interview noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making several efforts through the armed forces to end the waves of a series of extra judicial killings, kidnappings and terrorism in the country.
“State policing is the best thing that could happen to Nigeria if the bill is enacted, because the natives who will be recruited understand their landscape and terrain thereby preventing terrorists from gaining access to these rural communities to perpetuate evil”.
“I state categorically that most of the recent kidnapping of Teachers, Students and children in schools are politically motivated to blackmail the president out of power ahead of the 2027 presidential race”.
“President Tinubu has re-echoed his commitment and assurance to Nigerians that his government will defeat all evil forces troubling the country soon and he is working towards achieving this goal.
Therefore, all criminals and their sponsors should turn a new leaf or be prepared to face the wrath of the Nigerian law”.
“I wish to thank the All Progressives Congress APC delegates for reelecting President Tinubu as its Presidential flag bearer in the 2027 general elections.
It is noteworthy that, the presidential primary election held in Lagos recently, was peaceful and orderly, signifying the wide acceptability and endorsement of President Tinubu by Nigerians for a second term in office”.
