VIDEO: Inside Nigerian Community Living in Climate Crisis

WATCH: “Inside Nigerian Community Living the Climate Crisis,” a 10-minute documentary that explores the impacts of climate change on the Kwanni community of Sokoto State in northwest Nigeria. Centering the voices of mothers, shopkeepers, grandfathers and children, Rakiya Abubakar Muhammad reveals how flooding and erosion are compounding existing problems of poverty and marginalization. The documentary is a contender for a 2023 Covering Climate Now Journalism Award; Muhammad, a member of EJN, is a finalist under the Long Form Video category.
